Depending on what you mean... did u want to compare an LS7 Z06 to a Honda Civic, or an RX-7 to a Pontiac Sunfire??
Id prefer an all-motor american muscle car than a boosted import anyday.

All Hondas, Toyotas and a suburu I owned went to the junkyard from blown motors. I haven't been able to kill a chevy yet. True story.

I've never killed a Chevy engine but MANY a auto transmission has fallen to my mighty right foot, GM or not.

Guess SRT-4 suck too. If you're a car guy you have to admit the 4 bangers put out some nice power.
Evo
SRT
WRX
with mods they can keep up with if not pass most Fbodies. Its only in recent years the V8 boys are going turbo, twin turbo. In Brick Anger Mgt racing has a twin turbo vette pumping out 800+ HP and runs on the street.
Keep an open mind and you may learn something new.

Here we go. This could turn bad.
Now, most of the american cars that mimic the civics and corollas are cheaper, and the engines are the same.
Of course, my import has been to hell and back, and when it crossed the river styx, it ran over the boat-guard without a word of question. It still runs.
It even spewed out it's motor oil all over the engine bay, busted an exhaust, and suffered many unintended blows (including a large parkinglot hit and run dent). I can't figure out why it makes a turkey gobbling squeak when I'm going at slow speeds, and both sun visors came unscrewed and fell out. I havent put them back in. The headlights shine in two different spots on the ground, they are the worst, and the high beams are like low beams on a brand new car. No matter how many times the fan belt has been replaced or tightened, it squeals in the rain, in the heat, in the humidity, in the dry weather, in the cold, lights on, lights off, air on, air off, heat on, heat off, just not all the time. I have given up.
From what i understand in it's previous ownership, it has been offroading, it has been run into the ground, it has lost a battle with a guardrail, a stop sign, and a barrier, and hopped many a curb.
It still gets me from point a to point b on very little gas. it hasn't died on me... yet. The fiero, well, that's another story. Faithless.
The most important part of an American car is that we support our nations economy and products. We could be so much more self sustaining if we would just buy our own products. Sure, I'm partial to domestics, but hey, that import still runs, and good mileage too.

i am a fan of imports that are done nice...i am a huge fan of evos and skylines...i got the chance to meet a guy who owns a gorgeous R32 skyline and let me tell you i wet myself when i rode in it...plus i love what my friend has done with his evo...i love all cars in general, just as long as it is done tastefully and logically, whether it be import or domestic or european...

Lol...
turbos die... WAYYYYYY Before an ENGINE will die... especially if GM made that engine...
and yeah transmissions die on all cars... import..domestic... they usually have the same life
SRT-4's are great... great and unreliable if you mod them
evos are great...."" ""
wrx's are great.... "" ""
thats just turbo cars
my buddy has a wrx that he modded WAY past STI status... breaks all over
my buddy has an srt-4 that ROCKED me in a race.. ROCKED ME.. he's pushing 400+... nothing but problems
evos idk...
Plus... REAR WHEEL DRIVE FTMFW
sorry but i don't think there is one person here that can argue that turbos last longer than engines.... in almost any case...
i agree.. .those 4 bangers are great... almost got one...
but we may lose our resale value.. but our engines last LOOOOOONG... v8ftmfwomg!

you can say with any car you mod the hell out of...for example, my uncle had an 89 IROC, gorgeous car, and he started building it up, it was one headache after another, especially after a day at the track...we went through 7 rears on that thing, not to mention all of the little things that kept breaking...it just isn't turbo imports that this happens to, it's all cars...you have the money to race your car, you better have the money to fix it when **** breaks...that a consequence that comes with racing

i was looking gettin an import so i had something to put around in and stay out of trouble with. I drove a regular 2004 WRX, i cant by that car get me in just as much trouble as my Z28. There are some really nice imports. Civics and other front wheel drive import econo boxes are just that, the big wing and vacumm blower they call a turbo doesnt make it a race car. GM is even tryin to capitalize on the ricer seen with the Cobalts, G5s, and Ions. Whatever anyone likes to think there is know such thing as FWD sports car.

Yeah, you're right. I mean, who ever made a SBC run well?
