I think they are 17" rims actually, picture angle must make them look tiny.

SRT-8 = Not trail rated = not a real Jeep.......they are fast though.
I actually don't care for the newer Grand Cherokee's as much as the older ones. My wife has an '04 (last year of the previous body style) and we both like it a lot.
Gene, which engine/trans does it have?

I think they still use the 4.7L v8 too...not sure. But since there is no V8 badge, I'm gonna guess it's got the minivan 3.8L v6 that they are sticking in Jeeps now.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think the GC still gets the 3.7 V6. The 4.7 is still available too.

all i know is that it is a V6 and it's NOT trail rated, but I don't care about that. It is 4 x 4 so it's electronically controlled if the wheels slip the others catch, there is no locking of hubs, and no switch i have to turn, or button to push. Not sure if that helps but so far so good and I'm getting about 17 mpg which is only 3 less then the altima.

3.7 v6:
210 hp @ 5200
235 tq @ 4000
Not too bad - it prolly gets around about as well as the 4.0 did in the GC. You can go beat it off road Gene - it'll take some mild abuse without a hitch.
