For an Ls1 camaro what is the best hp gain and bang for the buck. Or what would you go with?

pretty much everything you have listed is worthless without the supporting mods such as headers, exhaust, intake etc.

Nitrous is usually the best bang for the buck.

Did you get a LS1? Just do minor bolt on stuff first then work your way up to bigger mods.

a turbo has the most upside of any power adder, but that still doen't make it a good place to start modding. prepare the chassis and the rest of the drive train and get all of the appropriate bolt on's done before you worry about going for any major improvement in power. if you aren't ready for the power, it is all burnouts and broken parts.

I would go heads and cam, not saying they would but the FI could lead to serious problems on a stock engine...IMO Get all your na power 1st.

is it an auto or a stick. If it's an auto the first thing would be a torque convertor, won't ADD horsepower, but it sure makes for some fun launches.

x2

Do the bolt-ons like Frosty stated. (intake, exhaust) After that I'd go Heads/cam. Turbos and superchargers are nice, but you're going to need fuel upgrades, a trans, and a rear.

I agree. It's just my opinion, but I would never go FI on a motor with the static compression numbers that an LS1 has, especially with hyper pistons.

Start with the chassis and suspension before doing any real work to the motor.

Sure, a lid and a catback are great starting mods. But you should also think about gears, LCAs, tq. arm, subframe connectors and the like.

at the very most you could do about 3 lbs before you start melting through to the piston skirts...

imo, you need to do some reading before you grab the wrenches, or cut loose with the wallet. you do want to make the most power you can, right? the more you know, the faster you'll go.

Tuning software

If you factor in our software/hardware package starts at only $499 and can tune up to 4 pcm's the average cost per pcm is only $125.

I've heard of people gaining 50+hp gains on forced induction applications so even if you buy now & build around it tuning software will grow with your modifications unlike most mods that you'll eventually grow out of

+1 on that!

If its a M6, id do full bolt ons, gears, suspension and DR's, then the big mods. LS1's are capable of hitting 11s on stock internals. theres always weight reduction too

If its an A4, get a nice sized stall converter and the rest of the bolt on stuff
