My car's a freak of nature!
I went down to atco tonight with the intentions on breaking into the 12s in a bone stock car. Unfortunately, technically that didnt happen.. I made a retarted number of runs tonight (11 total on a clutch that has smelled better) and I was stuck in the 13.3x range most of the early night, which isn't bad, but not what I was hoping for. Mike and Tim strapped on mike's SLP lid and the following two runs just lit up the tires cause the dew came in. I waited a while.. noticed that cars looked like they were hooking up again, and came back and ran a 13.10, 12.92, 12.94 and then..... a 12.805 @ 109.23!!!
So now what? I have a car that I wanted to do absolutely no modifications to that just ran what, like 4 tenths better than it should have?? I mean, its stock to the paper filter, with a flowmaster muffler (not cat back.. just muffler), and currently mike's SLP lid. So now im thinking, imagine what its gonna be like when i have a clutch that actually works.. maybe a short throw... a tune... some tires other than KDWS..
ugh. maybe ill go back and start throwing money at my 79 again. If i throw the equivalent of my car payment at it every month, maybe it'll be a 12 second car too

Do the free airbox mod and a ported TB and you might be at 12.5 or better. And that Flowmaster muffler is probably hurting more than helping. LS1's are pretty easy to do some basic mods with and see results. It's too late for you now! Nice runs.

My 01 ran almost identical w/ a lid and loudmouth. Those times are actually pretty common for 6spd 01-02's w/ a good driver. Good runs

Congrats, sorry I didn't get down there to see it. I was getting ready to come down and found a screw in one of my drag radials Maybe I'll catch you guys if ya come down again if not then next year and I still have to try and make a trip up to Island next season also, that would be cool running up there.

Nice runs, I forget what the fastest stock M6 LS1 f-body was, but great passes for sure. You should just buy mine.

Shoot... I remember reading it years ago when the LS1 first came out on LS1.com when that was still "the" website.

yup...don't buy into that cloth filter crap...they work better than a paper filter for the first 50 miles after being cleaned and then go quickly downhill after that
