11 second malibus

I was wondering if anyone knows of a g-body car that runs 11's with a full interior and a n/a 350 b/c I have a friend who has a 80's G-body malibu that he's building and he's aiming for low 11's maybe 10's. He's trying to do this with a 350 that will be n/a and he'll have 4.11 gears and a full interior and he says it could be a daily driver. I'm not sure this can be done but he swears there's alot of g-bodies doing exactly what he wants his to do with the same set-up. Can someone give me an example of a G-body that runs 11's so I know what it takes to get those times.

you jsut described a lot of the 11 second cars out there. a healthy small block, some suspension bolt ons, and a good set of gears. they are a solid platform for racing, so you don't have to waste a bunch of time looking for super double secret formulas.
don't forget the safety equipment if he is planning ot go quicker than 11.50

At full weight that little 350 is going to have to put out 535 hp at the wheels.. I hope he is not trying to run this n/a on pump gas!

I have a few customers with G bodies in the 11's/10's, they are great drag cars.

You understand what I mean. He intends on having a mildly built 350 in a full weight car thats naturally aspirated and is a daily driver and will run on 93 octane.I don't think it's going to happen....

I've seen alot of fast g-bodies at the track already, I know they run those times
but I'm asking what it takes to run those times. My friend thinks his heads and cam 350 thats running on 93 octane in a full weight car is going to run those same times, and i just don't see it happening.

it can be done, just depends on how efficient the engine is...look what kind of times daily driver full weight HCI lsx cars are running

I think high 12's are doable on a full-weight G-body with around 350 ci, and a streetable cam/compression ratio. I don't see a daily driver, 3600lb. G-body getting into the low 11's/high 10's on just 350 cubes. My buddy's Monte is relatively streetable; he's got a well-built 383 and a 700R4 with 4.10s out back, and runs 10.50s with a 200 shot of juice. His car has a full interior and cage, just the A/C box and stuff has been taken out. But, his car certainly wasn't cheap to build either; not sure what kind of budget your friend is planning for his car.

Like I stated before, it will take 535 rwhp to make that car go 10.0. Making that kind of power on pump gas in a car that will be driven every day is not impossible but very, very expensive and will require some exotic parts and engine work. The car will devour valve springs, gasoline, tires, and just about every other part on the car.

Heads and cam on a stock short block is not gonna do it..
Nitrous might make it possible though
