93-97 Firebird Bi-Xenon FX Projector Retro-fit (Pics)

Well finally finished it up tonight. I still have to secure and hide a few wires but that minor. Enjoy!

Scroll down for the new pics.

New Pics:

I need to aim them up a bit but I will do this when I am on a flat surface since where I was at was a bit slanted and sloping downward.

old pics - Mockup

Heh funny you ask that. I mocked this up yesterday and did a test fit before finishing all the cosmetic details. It clears....its close but it clears. Buddy of mine that stopped by was like ehh no way but down it went and no troubles.

Thanks guys. I will be posting a write-up by Sunday at the latest with all the details. These will be in the car, aimed with output shots.

Stay tuned.

COMPLETE!

Parts ran me close to 5 Bills but I used all OEM components and didn't skimp on anything. This is a 1k option on most new cars plus I feel its worth it for the better output and being different.

Those are true projector lamps? I am considering this on my 91 and I have been having a hard time finding real projectors that fit in the housings. Which OEM maker (hopefully GM?) are they from?
Looks sweet Can't wait to know what parts were used! HURRY!! we wanna know

Write-Up here:

http://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=849199

The smallest Bi-Xenon projectors you can find are the Infiniti FX35/45 projectors. They are considered wide but that isn't an issue with my setup. Length was a real big deciding factor and height. These fit the bill perfectly.

I made the lenses myself through some home done thermoforming.

Enjoy the write-up.

Do you have measurements for the projector? I am looking at another projector and I was wondering how deep was the one that you used.

Infinity FX35/45 Bi-Xenon (aka FX):
Diameter = 69.20mm - 2.724 in.
Height = 105.10mm - 4.137 in.
Width = 111.80mm - 4.402 in.
Length = 150.70mm - 5.933 in.
Length(seat of the lens to mounting holes) = 54.60mm - 2.15 in.
Length(mounting holes to end of bulb) = 72.10mm - 2.838 in.

Width and height were fine and my choosing of this projector was the largely based on length. Using this projector along with a Hella Gen 3 ballast which has an internal igniter also was an important decision.
