wheel studs

im about to buy some longer wheel studs for the t/a....what exactly do i want? they need to be nhra legal and all. i have a stock rear still...gm 8.5in 10bolt 1980 trans am...press in or screw in? any other tech. data i need to know before i buy some?

NHRA rules state that your wheel stud needs to stick out from the wheel as far as it's diameter... so a 12mm stud needs to stick out 12mm from the surface of the wheel. I run 12mm 3" pressed-in wheel studs on my car... front I took the rotors off and beat the studs in with a big hammer. Rear I "pressed" them in using a lug nut and a huge breaker bar
