Can't go wrong with any Tippman for a good entry level & reliable gun. I have a A5 and I love the thing, its very reliable and its a very straight shooting paintball gun.

What are your plans? Woodsball, Speedball, or just recreation? What is your price range? Those can help me determine and make reccomendations.
I use Tippmann 98s and Automags. My automag RT is what I mainly use thougn. Extremely accurate and an amazing rate of fire. They can be modified extensively to whatever you would like. They have what is called the level 10 bolt which is an anti-chop bolt that is absolutely a life saver, and works well. Fully Mechanical gun that will stay with and alot of times outshoot the electronic guns. Im sure a few of the other members here who have played with me will attest to the Mag. If you want to know more about them or what not just ask. As you can see I am a little biased towards them, but Ive owned MANY MANY guns, and no matter what I had I went back to the mag for its simplicity, performance, and quality.

I love my tippman 98 its like 5 years old now and still havent had a problem. I played against kids with modded auto mags and beat them. Its all about the player so for a relaiable gun i would def look into a tippman

thanks guys. keep up the info. i am still looking into the different manufacturers. i am not sure of a price range yet but probably 300.00 to 400.00 is where i will have to stay. the cheaper guns just seem to wear quicker even with good maintenance practices then balls start to chop and seals start to leak more often. i dont go that often but when i do i use the paint. i am not shy about inflicting pain and suffering on the paintball field.

I dont play that often anymore but i have never done my seals and i know if i took my gun it would work. I only took it apart one time to oil it. Trust me i have given the gun a beating and it still works great. So for what you looking for the tippman would be a great gun. Only mod i did to it was a bigger barrel its all i ever needed. I know its not the best gun but for the money its worth the reliability

I love my Angel A4 fly. Can be had for pretty cheap now a days because it 3 years old.
You really can't go wrong with a mag though. My e-mag is a wonderful gun, and my old 68 classic served me well when I had it.
Tippmann 98 custom is a great basic gun. If you don't speedball that often and are just looking for something to use every now and then, go for it.

Ill second the automag, I've seen it, I bought one after seeing it, they are amazing. Speaking of me buyin one
WHERE'S MY AUTOMAG JON? FIXED YET??
Lol j/k
I also have a tipmann A5 with an M4 style stock on it Flatline barrel and its insane, accurate and shoots very long distance. Rate of fire is pretty good, electric trigger or R/T will make it shoot faster but I did a quick trigger job to mine and it shoots well enough for me. I also have a marker I bought as a POS BUG just in case but its a very good marker in its own right, Syndicate Paradox MF-1 Electro, takes spyder barrels, have an all american smart parts system for it, the electric trigger is very good, but I can outshoot burst and full auto, paid like 125$ for it I think, idk I can't remember.

i had an a5, it was unstoppable and i loved the thing, sold it to b64c though because it the hopper stopped working, all it needed was a .25cent part.
i still have my autococker, trying to sell it, great gun for speedball, horrible in the woods. it would probably be better for woods with a longer barrel. its a good gun overall though.
but if your getting out of entry level i would suggest an a5 or the new one they have out, i forgot what its called, but check out the tippmann site
