Best Budget 305 Cam

Hey guys whats the best cam to make some power and give a nice thump with out spending a million bucks. 305 has 170k on it and is backed by a t-5, head gaskets are being done so I figured this would be a good time to add something, thanks in advance.

Leave it alone!

With that many miles you going to cause yourself allot of greif!

Timing chain is probably stretched, lifters and springs proabably can't handle a more aggressive cam, and the bottom end may not like the extra cylinder pressure.

Do like im doing. Throw a new cam(with that many miles nothing to big tho man), lifters, valves and springs in. Replace the timing chain and gears too since it has so many miles. Get a can of prolong or w.e and lucas fuel treatment & some seafoam and call it a day. Itll feel a hell of alot better & have a wee bit more power.

Too many miles, like sliderule said. Save your pennies for a whole new engine. You'll be a head of the game.
