Cam for stock ls1 intake manifold?

Been looking around and everything requires atleast a ls6 intake. Im on a budget here and am looking to keep the stock ls1 intake manifold. Is that possible ? I'd like atleast or around 380rwhp. I'm not sure if id like the CheaTR cam..Seems too mild. Will a 224tr or 228/228 tr work with a stock ls1 intake manifold? OR be up to potential?

Thanks

Greg

Do you have a full aftermarket exhaust already? Of course it'll work...and will be still worth it. Just keep your eye out on ls1tech.com for a used FAST 90/92mm or LS6 intake later on. Intake swaps can be done whenever and are very easy. I do recommend doing the underdrive crank pulley while doing the cam swap.

As far as the cam....do you want lope? Is the car a daily driver? How high are you willing to rev it? Do you plan on swapping heads later on? Are you a 6speed or auto? These should start to help you determine a cam choice.

When looking into a cam for my stock LS1 I contacted thunder racing and they suggested the 224/224-112 .563 cam, for a manual and 114 for an auto, anything bigger that that is waistful and will give you issuse tuning the PCM in terms of pulling timing out and drivability. I consulted with another member on here who is done several cam swaps and he agrees

I don't know the car or all of the mods you have or if the the 340 rwhp is what you think it has or what the dyno sheet says because they can be very different. But what you want to do is have bolt ons in working order and a suspension to handle the power and a drivetrain to support the power. Other wise any gain from changing a cam would not be as beneficial. I'm not telling you you what magical order to do things in, but don't have your mind set on a cam until everything else is in order. Your best bet may be to check out ls1 tech to find a nice cam cheap and any other mods you might need and go from there. Plus if you get any cam of any size you would need proper valvesprings etc and a tune for it to be driveable which is usually around the 500 range anyways. Really figure out your car and what you want out of it before a cam comes in to play. Good luck with the car and enjoy!

I don't see why you are willing to spend money on a cam and swap that but not stick an LS6 intake on the car?

Moving air is what hp is all about, if you cant get the air in the front door it dosent really matter what is going on inside. (the intake and throttle body are the "front door" if you havent figured it out...)

You can pick up an Ls6 intake manifold on Ls1tech all the time for $300. I picked up mine for $330 shipped to my house and it came outta an 04 Caddy with 1200 miles on it so it was basically new.
