How would you accumulate posts if you always deleted the old one?
Sounds like an interesting challenge

I can understand deleting/editing old classifieds (I do it all the time to stop people from asking if it's still available after I sold it) but why lounge posts?

Why delete them? If you make a mistake, or misquote, or double post, etc...

Rather than having people do that, we ask that you post up in the thread that your item(s) has been sold, and we lock the thread and mark the title as sold

If you are referring to old classifieds posts for items that are no longer for sale, just post in them saying that the item was sold or no longer for sale, and a mod or admin will take care of it from there.
