need help computer I.E. related

Ok, I don't know what happened I used to be able to watch movies online and now if I click on a link instead of I.E. opening the file it says unable to open page or something like that.

I obviously changed a setting somehow but don't know how. Any suggestions??

I.E has to many loop holes making it easy target for viruses if you continue to use it you will eventually get your hard drive wiped by something.
Chances are it isn't any thing you did scan it with a anti viral program of some sort AVG used to have a good free one.

ok not interested in getting F'ing firefox anyway... never had issues with downloading viruses you guys are so frigging paranoid it's ridiculous.

why is it so hard to answer a question that is asked without making it a personal vendetta against a program you don't like. JESUS CHRIST

TONS AND TONS OF PEOPLE.

Spybot S&D, BHODemon and the like will be good to you firehawk. Sounds like a typical browser hijack.

If it's an I.E. problem I think there is an option in one of the menus to reset the program back to defaults. If it's a virus/spyware problem I use what everyone else said, Spybot and AVG.

If that doesn't help I'd download firefox or that new google program, I think its called Chrome to see if you have the same problem. If everything works on a different internet browser maybe try reinstalling I.E. or upgrade if there is a newer version available.

your settings might have been changed from internet default. go to your start menu, right click somewhere in it, click properties, it will be a thing there that says start menu, click there and click customize, check the defaults for internet. Hope this helps.

hey man I was all for I.E for so dam long then I got multiple viruses over and over( not even surfing the pron) and did some research and discovered how cheap and pathetic Microsoft was when the made I.E and how there are enough loops wholes in it to make swiss cheese look whole.
I have yet to get any type of virus or spy ware/ad ware problem since i swapped to firefox and it is going on a year now and i visit the same sites I visited then and I have the exact same protection as then. The main thing about firefox is it doesn't allow programs to auto download in the back ground or open .exe files with out you knowing.
