Metallica concert
did anyone go the show tonite?? I just got back home and let me say it was f---ing kick ass!! fantastic blend of old school and new tunes from death magnetic. high energy from start to finish...
i scored a gen admission floor ticket 30 min before they came on for half of face value so i was happier than a pig in s--t!! was right down in front maybe 10 feet from the stage..also got a guitar pic from rob trujillo which was awesome. i know theyre playing there sunday as well.. my freind is hitting that show, but i didnt want to miss the super bowl.
death magnetic, easily the best metallica album since 91. nuff said.

Yeah I was like two people off the rail on what became pretty much the "front" of the stage. I think I built myself up a little too much for the show to be honest because I came out a little disappointed. Something tells me tonights show will have a better encore set. Blitzkrieg was a bummer because I knew that took place of the few Misfits covers that have been on nearly every set list for one night stop shows in other cities and I was really looking forward to hearing Green Hell. Also despite the fact that Seek & Destroy is another one of my favorites it took the place of Creeping Death which I was really looking forward to hearing...
All in all it was a good show. Everyone played on key except for Kirk, idk whats up with him he looks strung out on something. The rest of them were all over the stage, even Lars. I'd see em again but I wouldnt pay the $150 a ticket I did this time.

I was front row against the rail right infront of the mics.....awesome show! I was actually right next to the little kid who got to go up on stage. My buddies and I saw him and his mother during Machine Head and found out it was his first concert ever so we pushed some room open to get him upfront with us....kid had the best night of his life and probably doesn't even realize it.

No. But that's not a good comparison - that was an experience.
I still prefer Iron Maiden live to Metallica. They don't BS me with pseudo-ballads, lol. I am actually really looking forward to the show download off metallica.com I got free with my tix. I bet I'll like their new material from this better than the sonic crime against humanity that is their latest cd.
Regarding my sickness (thanks) it appears Guinness and Magic Hat HIPA (yeah, my favorite seasonal, I will buy 8 cases for the summer, lol) are excellent ways to treat a virus. Last night I felt great, first time I've had any energy for a week. And I'm just tired today, for the most part. Now I'm catching up from being sick. Just came in from scraping ice off the driveway from the snow/slush/ice/rain on Wed. I could not get out of bed to deal with it during the week. Now I am paying. Ugh. Onto bills, resumes, job hunting, and ordering my new nastyZ stuff.
I just d/l's some Motorhead off Amazon to waste a credit I got for christmas shopping, lol. So much to do.

That was very cool. That kid was about the size of my 8 year old. I can only imagine how excited he must have been. Lars is one weird ****ing dude (did you see the robe they threw around him on the way out?) but that was nice. Although I still have not wrapped my head around little kids at a metal show. Maybe I'll take my 8 year old to Bent Brothers next weekend, lol. He loves I Wanna Rock and We're Not Gonna Take It.

Not counting tonight, I've seen Metallica once and Maiden... 3? times, and definitely agree with this statement. IMO though Maiden's a better band so I may be biased

I have been to other shows before and while this one was good it was far from F******* amazing.
I think the highlight was when James fell down And what is with people being dumbasses and hitting the beach balls back onto the stage?

i have been to many metallica shows as well..mostl recently, OzzFest 2008, the one-off show where Ozzy/Metallica headlined in Dallas this past august...before that..they hadnt been to america since 04... but, i was througholy entertained. they sounded tight.
the ozzfest 08 set was almost a full 3 hours....which was inf--king sane, not to mention a 15 minute jam session w/ King Diamond..but, this show was still very entertaining
