98 z mods list
ok guys heres what im thinking about doing. tell me if you think it would make good power. not looking to break the bank and do major swaps just want to do some little things to it
so far i have an slp lm1 catback, high flow air lid, and ram air duct.
im going to be buying a set of long tube headers with catted y, intake manifold (probably ls6) and possible 1.7 rockers. msd wires and ngk plugs
suspension i have subframe connectors. stb. rear lower control arms and panhard rod. im going to be adding the umi panhard relocation bar, trans crossmember with relocation mount. and an adjustable torque arm.

this is true. simply to avoid doing things too many times, im waiting until the heads and cam go in to do rockers and underdrive pulley on mine....
if your planning on doing a clutch anytime soon, i would recommend setting aside some extra money for the tick master cylinder, i freaking love the thing.

Forget about the rockers, the stock ones are fine, and dont waste money on a the upper panhard bar. Get the stock TB ported.
LT headers, ORY, and LS6 intake should be your main focus...thats where I saw the biggest gains considering where you are at. Do the plugs and wires along with the LT installation, and poly motor mounts.
Small mods would be battery relocation, LCA relocation brackets, and 85mm maf..not that important but I could get you one for cheap (PM me). A tune would help, but not necessary...wait until you get gears.
Medium mods would be an electric water pump and pulley.
As a side note: The LM will be fun with headers but it will get old real fast. Think about possible catbacks/ new resonators (borla xr-1, magnaflow, sweet thunder). Dont get Dynomax bullets, they may be cheap but no improvement. I like loud, Im a big LM fan, but Im sick of it after a year with headers. Consider a quieter c/b (hooker, magnaflow) then get a cutout if loud gets you off.
Hope this helps considering its a summary of the last 6 months of my mod struggle.

Skip the torque arm relocation and just get a short arm that goes to the mid chassis brace instead of the trans cross member. Just leave the stock trans crossmember there.
Also, get yourself fresh trans and motor mounts. Odds are yours are old, beat, and throwing everything all over the place. I suggest poly motor mounts, some people say they vibrate too much, but I didn't notice much of a difference. Trans mount, just a fresh stocker will be fine once you get the torque arm off of it.

and when you order the torque arm, get the drive shaft loop. If you have any question why you need it, ask CBRRMike

After seeing that im buying a driveshaft loop. I dont want to pole vault my car. Are rockers just more of a pain then a good mod? Im sure its easier just to slap heads on at that point.

Roller rocker can get expensive on lsx's. Add a ported tb to the intake mani. and get a tune and your looking good. Susp. mods look fine to me.

I know I have an LT1 so RRs are kinda a must, but it makes your engine sound like a damn sewing machine, like the LM it gets annoying..... And I bought kinda cheap ones for the hell of it when I started modded, and then when I re did heads I had to get much better ones. So always think for the future.

They aren't difficult, just for the price there is not much of a gain and most of them, including the popular yello terra ones, are complete garbage. For how much they cost you are would do better to save that money and wait until you can do a proper cam only set up.

Unless u r going soild roller run the stock rockers. The aftermarket roller rocker are heavyer then stock and you have more problems then there worth. Are cam only car has stock rockers and we spin it 7200Rpms
