ebay ?

i havent used my ebay account in about 1 year or 2. i signed onto my account and they are asking for an updated credit/debit card(the one they had on file expired). are they now charging ebay members a monthly fee to use ebay? im reading their credit card usage agreement and it seems as though they want to charge a monthly fee. i have no outstanding balances.

Another BS thing they have now, is that you can't list an item without having ONLY PAYPAL listed as payment. I have over 900 Positive Feedback, and on my site I stated that a Money Order or a Personal Check (it had to clear first) was all I accepted and people used to ask me how come I don't accept PayPal. Well if you add up the FEES that PayPal would have charged me on the sold items, it would add up to a lot of bling. Now ALL YOU CAN HAVE IS PAYPAL, and what you sell it NOT what you get, because PayPal has to take its cut in order to use their SERVICE. Plus if you want to take the money paid to your account, PayPal charges you ANOTHER FEE to send you a check.

True enough, but if you just do a balance transfer, they don't charge you a fee. They only charge the fee when you want a check - they must want it to cover their postage and the cost of paper! Friggin' tightwads.

Really. I hate that when people pay with checks. The only checks I write other than ones I mail are at the dry cleaners as they don't take credit cards.

But if you take Paypal on your Ebay auctions you will have more interested buyers and the selling price usually goes higher which easily covers their fee. Money orders are no safer than anything else and Paypal is probably one of the safest ways to pay on the web.

Fake money orders are easy to catch just look for the watermarks and micro print if it ain't there it's a fake. No scammer can fake micro print.

Plus there is no IF any more paypal is the only method so alot of those items that where selling higher cause they had paypal payment are no longer selling as high.

Also your wrong paypal is by far the easiest way to loose out on big money or even smaller amounts, yeah they say buyer/seller protection but it don't mean crap and in the tiny tiny writing describing the buyer protection they make sure to state that there is no guarantee that they will retrieve your money.

all you have to do to scam some one on ebay using paypal create a new account add a credit card and all that goodness then buy something wait a month or 2 after you get it then call your credit card company tell them you never got the item and they will file a chargeback that automatically puts the money back on your credit card.
The chargeback takes the money from paypal and paypal doesn't want to be screwed so they reverse the entire payment, and in the end some ass whole just got a nice new transmission and your out 2500.00.
That is why I use paypal for small things and never for bigger dollar items now days.

Just do some ligh digging into paypal horror stories and see waht you find.

Money orders don't need to be faked, you can cancel them just like checks, certified checks, etc. So if you accepted a money order and sent the item out and the money order has been canceled, you're screwed as well. There is no really safe way to exchange money for goods other than in person or with a true business. I prefer bank wires for the higher dollar transactions. I never leave money in my Paypal account, I always transfer it to my bank account. They have no right to take it from your bank account without authorization so if you had money just sitting in your Paypal, that was not a good idea.

Lol number one rule when accepting checks or money orders never send an item out before it has fully cleared the bank I used to always wait until my bank said it was good normally 6-8 days, after a money order or check has been cashed you can't just call up and cancel it you have to go in person and file a affidavit and a lot of other nonsense.

I'd take a check/money order over paypal any day of the week.

you are correct but if you have a negative balance paypal turns into any normal bill collector and if the balance is big enough it keeps going and going until you either pay them or your paycheck is being garnished.
You gotta read all the fine print.

so whats your email address?
just add a bank account and transfer it over it is free or pay the few dollars and have them send you a check.

I generally try to keep a balance of 0 and always pay using credit card, if you get junk items after paying with a paypal balance all you can do is file a dispute and get nothing but with the credit card refer to my post up top with chargeback.
