Forgotten Corvettes

I can't find the post, but I remembering mentioning this on here when the story first broke. In 2005 it was found that hippie artist Peter Max had been storing Corvettes, one for every year from 1953 to 1989, in an apartment garage in Brooklyn. He bought the cars in 1989 from a guy who won them through a contest on VH1. Peter Max was going to do some big art project with them, but the project fell to the wayside and so did the Corvettes and they have sat in storage and complete neglect ever since.

Now Peter Max says he is going to go through with the project and recently moved them out of storage. The first link is to a recent NY Times article and the second link has more information:

Why are some of them beat up (see digitalcorvette site)? Maybe from transporting? Regardless its a shame to see such beautiful machines simply wasting away.
