Tail lights - what sucks and what doesn't.
Why are the honey comb tail lights preferred over the venetian blind tail lights? I think the honey combs are far superior in looks, and they convey a long history of honey comb designs by Pontiac. The venetian blind tail lights do not have a Pontiac history, and to me, they look home made.
Whats your take on the tail lights?

As far as the venitian blinds, I think they fit the heritage and theme of typical Pontiac tails just fine- actually better than the honeycombs. The multi-leveled/seperated look:

If you were talking about overall designs (as in grills and more, not just taillights), then that's of course different. But the venitian blinds fit the mold just fine too.

I'm sorry, I just don't see any similarity between any of the cars tail lights in those pics....
What came to mind was the honeycomb wheels that Pontiac used. But obviously, you are right about the tail lights going way back.

Yeah, a lot of the newer car plastic grills are honeycombs, too.

even the 85-92 trans am taillights had the grid pattern, hence why the 93-97 trans ams had the grid to make them stand out. Firebirds for those years had taillights that were different.

I don't know what design the 1991-1992 GTA tail lights fall under, but I really like the total black out look and the fact that these lights were not that common.

i prefer the honeycomb to the blinds..just personal preference, but that post with the pics does prove how many 'blinds' pontiac has used over the years..
