Kirk Hammett

i honestly dont think he gets enough credit, yeah he is always included on "Best guitarists of all time", but you never really hear people talk about him outside of those lists... discuss

I always liked his playing, far more hard rock and playing with feel than metal & speed, at least in comparison to his peers in other metal bands. I mean compare his style with Marty Friedman of Megadeth, who is much more of that LA/Satriani style. I totally prefer Hammett's style. I think it is his more hybrid approach to metal that sets him and Metallica apart.

He plays on arguably one of the best and most influential metal record ever, Masters of Puppets, so that counts for something.

I think you never hear to much buzz around him because someone else in the band is a better guitarist, and drummer than the bands drummer at that.

Only reason Mr. Hetfield isnt the lead is because hes got the pipes.

For me its because they have had horrible albums the past 15 years or so after the Black album. How can I say he is one of the best if I dont like there music?

I dont think he has anything distinguishable about his style of guitar playing.

I say the same for the douche playing for Ozzy now. Its just not the same without Zakk Wylde

I saw a show on Discovery or Science channel with him where everything was shot with a special camera to detail things in slow motion. It gave me a new appreciation to someone who can do what he does.

Theres no doubt hes a good guitarist but theres like a million good guitarists out there. Its style, definition, and a distinguishable sound that make good guitarists great guitarists.

Just talking in general about the craft not him in particular. I was just saying the show with the cameras showcased the skill of a guitarist in a new way I hadn't seen before. It just happened to be him.
