DUI

ok.. do you guys think this was wrong for us to do this..

Lastnight i was with 2 friends and we just got gas and we were coming down 45 in mantua. Infront of us we saw a ford f-150 going all over the road. he came all the way into the oncoming lane just missing a car then out of no where comes back across off the road in the dirt and just missed a telephone pole. We choosed to call the police. We trailed the guy for about 15 min on the phone with the cops. This guy was all over the road risking someone else's life and his own. By the time the cops cought up to us he was pulling into the riverwinds bar. the cop came flying in after him and pulled him out. the guy was drunk as hell falling all over.

Do you think it was wrong of us to do this?

Are you serious? Do you have some sort of guilt for what you did? I think anyone with half a brain would do the same thing. You can't pull that person over yourself, that puts you in harms way. The guy was drinking, he took a risk driving and endangering others. Think of it this way, if that person was to hit a loved one of yours, and people had followed him but did nothing, would you de okay with that?

On that note, glad to hear you DID have a heart and called the police, people would brush that off, and say not my problem, when in the end that person has created a whole nother problem by ignoring the first one.

You guys definitely did the right thing. I did a similar thing once - my wife and I were heading home up the Turnpike and we were in slow-moving heavy traffic because of a bad rainstorm. All of a sudden this charter bus comes ripping by on the friggin' shoulder! He just missed my car and probably 50 others as well, because the shoulder is very narrow. I called 911 and told them what happened and what mile marker we were near - within 2 miles the NJSP had him pulled over.

You very well may have saved somebodies LIFE (or MORE) as well as the destruction of vehicles and the mayhem that would have taken place.

you definitely did the right thing. as said earlier...imagine if you hadnt called him and your brother or sister or someone you were close to was killed by the same truck that you could have had the power to stop...you'd never forgive yourself.

drinking and driving is no joke i did many reports and my thesis paper on it in college. a little less than half of all traffic fatalities are alcohol related.

Yes i feel the same. that's one of the things that sets me off. i hate drinking and driveing cause i've seen family/friends that had gotten hurt cause of it. it's messed up and if i saw him hit someone i could never forgive myself like you said.

on a side note, say he wasnt drunk, say he was suffering from some type of heart attack, stroke or whatever. not only did you possibly save someone elses but you couldve saved his. you never know in that situation.

There was incident the other day on the radio. About a kid on his provisional who was hit by a drunk drive he was still able to drive. He was able to chase him down do the pit manuver and disabled the vehicle. And called the cops. Turns out the guy was triple the limit. Was this kid right for doing that? I don't think he should have done that. That's why cops are cops and are trainned to do that, leave it to them it's their job

Back on topic you def did the right thing. If you didn't call the cops and he hit the bird, you were gonna bet you called them. So don't feel guilty.

I have tried this before, i was on the interstate, 411 connected me with the local police that couldn't help me so they gave me a number for the state police that i called and no one answered meanwhile this drunk mess in front of me drove off an exit and into a field.

I did the same thing Thursday morning on the way to work. I normally don't get involved in other people's business but if someone is being a danger to me and other innocent people on the road then it's time to do something.

You absolutely did the right thing.
