I bought my first car, a 91 Jetta GL...156k miles, hasnt been started in more than a year, needed a full tune up BAD, and still rev'ed to very clean 7 grand like it was its job...just doing a rememberance V-Dub

I hate to say but those cars are a complete POS. My brother had one and couldn't even get a year out of it. VW's seem to be a 50/50 and if you don't get the good one, you'll be crying until the day you sell it. One guy from work finally got his money back under the lemon law after his new Passat was in the shop more than it was on the road. Another guy from work had his Passat in the shop every month that he owned it. But somehow my friend put 150K miles on his Passat in 4 years with no major problems.

I know what your saying, but lets not get people to think that their all bad. Because my family has had very good luck with the few VW's we have had. And my one friend who is a VW nut, Has some very nice cars in his collection still running strong.
