*gags* that Maxima is horrible.
Despite what most people think, Nissan still makes horrible cars. Â*I was very unimpressed at the one that came into work the other day. Â*Interior plastics were very poor, and felt very cheap. Â*And the French-design team that cooked that spacecraft design should be shot.

my old manager is convinced to this very day that his 92 maxima can beat my TA in a race, and is in better condition than my TA (which, as people who have seen it, can vouch that, except fot the bird, the car is exceptionally clean), and his car will last longer his car is already pretty much held together with paperclips, staples, and elmers school glue.

Thinking about it more... he has 265 hp/255 tq on my 200 hp and 225 tq, but makes it higher.
He's got wrong wheel drive
Both automatic.
His car's heavier.
He won't know his car anywhere near as well as I know mine.
What's the gearing on those?
I don't think it would be as bad as I thought... thats still a large power gap tho :-/

Its not a BMW..its a Maxima...
04-05 Maxima can run mid to low 14's, depending on trans and driver.
IMO...Id rather spend the loot and get a GTP Comp G...or a GTO.

Keep in mind that hes a new driver... i know his CAR would beat mine... but I'm pretty confident that I could run faster times than him, even if it's just from experiance and knowing cars

I was forced to point that out as what my car has over his (looks, sexyness, non-fuglyness) Plus I think of a maxima I think of my aunt's 84 or 87 datsun maxima - hahah man. It's OK someone get me that 3.8 turbo kit for christmas... or maybe everyone chip in for it ...

you guys are idiots. maximas are FAST. ****, before the new maxima came out, my dad's boss had a 2002 i think. he wasn't flooring it or anything, but it definitely would've taken out my 91 Z.
i think his was the one with the 250 hp engine. i think nissan underrates the 3.5 in the maxima and altima. i'd bet they'd dyno pretty close to a 350z

now, either the 350z is a dog with fleas or the new maxima and altima are the best bang for the buck on the market today. and you called them idiots.
either way, they are japanese and you shouldn't even think of glorifying them. btw, the days of underrating hp levels went out when the insurance companies got smart - they have dynos, too.

yea you would've shat all over the 325.
maximas and altimas can run mid/low 14s. i know they're not race cars, but they are fast for what they are.
i know in my 91 z, a 3.5 altima raped me on the highway

I don't know about the newer maximas, but the older ones too can hold their own. My best friend's first car was a 84 (yes, EIGHTY-FOUR) Maxima (he later got a brand new '01 Firebird to make up for that POS lol).
His stock 84 Maxima held it's own against my stock 95 Firebird (3.4L V6, not 3.8L) up to about 60, from 60 and on I was only able to pull slightly ahead, maybe 1/2 a car length.
