Not to sound like a heartless ********* or anything, but thank God. I think everyone was getting sick of hearing about something that happens all the time.

I totally agree. It's a sad situation, but after 15 years, her condition is not news.

BUT, this whole thing has done 1 good thing. I can guarentee more people will be getting living wills to try to avoid this.
Oh, anyone read about the Pope getting a feeding tube, and the document they plan to use as his living will, stating he thinks a feed/respiratory tube is legit in the eyes of God to sustain life...
The words going through my mind as I was reading that? "Here we go again."

Well, it looks like it won't be out of the news for a while. Conspiracy theories are already being thrown around. The one I just read was that her husband actually beat her when she "collapsed" 15 years ago, and she was found with her hands over her head as if to protect herself.

Whatever......she got that way because she was anorexic and got sick from complications relating to that. She was pretty much killing herself anyway, starving herself to death no less. Not to sound like a jerk, but the irony is pretty funny. Plus last nights South Park episode about it was hilarous!

When you stop feeding something it dies... did they think she was really going to live? It was only a matter of time.

I just find it a bit in contrast to the whole "humanity" PC crap when prisoners on death row get a last meal of their choice, get to see any religious figure they want, get to lay down and have their arm cleaned with rubbing alcohol before a lethal injection that first puts you to sleep so you feel no pain then kills you somewhat peacfully and a regular person that commited no crime is starved to death. Sounds dislexic to me. Yea, and I have no idea how to spell "dislexic" and I have ADD so I'm too easily distracted to look it up.

Yea, she was. So many people have so many different theories, no one will ever know the truth.
Either way, I'm glad she's in peace now.

The pope can also eat on his own...they are running a feeding tube through his nose and into his stomach to increase calorie intake to aid in his recovery. His feeding tube is not sustaining life.

Not yet. He has trouble swallowing, mostly because of Parkinson's. It will continue to get harder and harder for him to swallow, and thus the tube will be sustaining his life. This will soon be the same situation all over again, minus that he won't be in PVS.

It is a sad situation though. My grandfather got Staff Infection 5 years prior to his death, and in those last 5 years he had his intestines removed, multiple cases of pneumonia, and lost 80 lbs down to 102. It was joy when he passed, because living through 5 years of pain is enough. I wouldnt imagine 15 years of suffering. God bless her family.

What really made it sad was that people who didnt know her had to get involved. Not only that but for the people who doesnt know what she is going through fighting to save her life. I would rather die, than to suffer and not be all there. But all in all the worse part is again the people getting involved in something that is not there business. They have no right to decide what they can do. I am just glad its over and i can live my life in peace with out having to keep hearing about all this. And no that she doesnt have to suffer anymore. With the new rumors going on about him hurting her and so on, makes me more sick that they have to go to that level to seek justice for deciding to let her life go.
My .02 cents

for alot of the people protesting it wasnt about a live or die issue...alot of them though the husband was just heartless...from what i understand is that after a few years of trying all different kinds of treatment and stuff there came a time where he said her wishes would be to die in this situation...the thing is after 15 years in the state she was in why not just end her...i mean it sounds heartless but its not going to get any better for her...alot of people throw in the marriage vows thing the sickness/health thing and while thats all fine and good there comes a point where you just have to say put her out of her misery...do you really think shed want to be stuck up in some hospital for the next 40-50 years or whatever amount of time she lives for with people coming to visit every day or two? My dad was in the hospital for a week and almost went insane. For anyone thats got kids would you really want your kids to see you like that for the rest of your life? Or would you rather then look at pictures when you were young, beautiful and happy? Rather then a drooling sack of poo for lack of a better term? Ask anyone....99 out of 100 people would rather be put out of their misery and the 1 is a selfish moron...also keep in mind 100 years ago there wouldnt even have been a choice to keep her alive for 15 years...she wouldve been done long ago and for the most part everyone would say shes in a happier place then here...but i digress. Well anywayz just my POV take it fwiw guys.
