I am buying a rear end for my car which is a 92 25th anniversay camaro. THe rear end i am buying is a posi unit with 3.42 in it but it has disk brakes on it and we all know 92 rear has drum brake. Now would is be hard to convert the drum to disk brakes of should i just change the disk brakes on the new rear to the drum brakes from the old rear. I don't know what to do whats easier whats better. Some one help.
thank you enrico
you can e-mail at rik81584@yahoo.com with any kind of advise.

i dont think its to hard to swap to disks thats what im doing in my 86 but my car is basically totatly apart exect for the interior which is almost done so it wont be to hard for me to do it.
you will need to find a proportioning valve for four wheel disks and new parking brake cables and new brake lines for the rear and i think thats basically it.

Pretty much got it all there. I think you will need a new E-brake lever as well but Im not 100% on that.

Make sure that the new rear is out of a 89-92 at least. The PBR rears are the ones you want, just look for the aluminum calipers. Count the bolts on the rear cover too, see if its a 9 bolt.

Either eBay or post up in the Classifieds section to see if anyone has them...there are a few members here who part out a lot of cars.

I disagree, pre 89 disc brakes aren't any good IMO. I've had 4 sets and they all stunk. Once they put the 89+ PBR's on they were alot better. Tried everything possible on my dads GTA (1988) and the rear brakes still suck and the parking brake is practically non existent.

Yea, thats why i told him to make sure they are a 89 or up set. Those non PBR's are practicly junk.
