got a ticket today...
i recieveed a ticket today for passing a stoped school bus
but the thing is, it was a blind corner, i was following a pickup that passed the bus too, and it wasnt even completly stoped
it would of been more dangerous for me to try to stop then just go like i did, because i couldnt even see it untill i was about 30 feet from it. if i hit the brakes i would of slid past it anyway, which would of been even MORE dangerous.
its really unfair and i havent gotten a ticket for anything in over a year...what should i do, do you think it will be reduced in court?

um...no. u passed a school bus, why would they reduce your fine? i mean what's your excuse gonna be to a judge? i think the law is pretty clear "DONT PASS THE SCHOOL BUS"

i know a girl that passed a school bus with the blinkin red lights on and a cop was behind her. she pulled herself over and then the cop stopped and still wrote her a ticket, n she is VERY HOT!

whats worse is he was pulled over by the sergeant in bloomingdale...hes a hardass a lot of hte time. all he does all day is traffic enforcement

Sorry to hear it man. Guess the lesson here is - don't tailgate to the point you cant see, and slow down when you're on city roads.

i wasnt tailgating, i was just following and its a bad turn
the guy i was in front of is acculy my neighbor, whos a cop. he said he didnt think it was stoped either. whatever happens at this point happens i guess.

everyones entitled to their mistakes. dont make excuses in court, just say your sorry and that it will never happen again and politely request a plea bargain and be on your merry way. being polite goes a long way in court.

Then again, you could at least try to reduce it in court. The prosecutor may uderstand the blind curve thing. I guess what I am saying it that it might be worth a shot. How many points is it?

if i were you id try to get it reduced in court and like the others said dress nice and be polite and maybe go take a few pictures of the blind corner and where the bus was stopped so at least you can try and prove a point even if it doesnt work and who knows if you get lucky the cop might not show up

you said your neighbor, a cop, was there and agreed that he didnt think it was stopped, talk to him, maybe he can help. he may not want to contradict another cop in court but he may be able to make a few calls and get something resolved beforehand so he woudlnt have to go to court.

why didnt yur buddy cop stop with you and talk to the othe cop and help u out saying even he didnt realize it was stopped and it was a bad curve. not a very nice friend.
and what i dont get why were u passing a bus anyway. stoped or not. if u didnt think it was fully stoped why would u pass it, passing would be illegal correct especailly on a curve, and if it was stopped then you shouldnt of been goin so fast around a blind corner, that sounds a little dangerous.
