99 yukon tuning/pcm issues
ok, my 99 yukon has 2 trouble codes that come up...
P0141 HO2S Heater Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 2
P0430 TWC System Low Efficiency Bank 2
Now for some reason i was under the impression i could take care of it with my HPtuners software. today i went to see and found out i can't.
I need to resolve these codes for inspection and my 45 day period is just about up so i'll have to go through the full inspection again. but whatever. I really dont feel like throwing new O2 sensors in the truck when that may not be the cure. I see that PCMforless can tune this truck and i was thinking with having them just delete these 2 codes and nothing else. cost would be 125 plus shipping and i figure i'd be done with it. The truck is for sale and i wanna get rid of it soon so doing any type of performance tune is pointless. I just want it inspected.
the p0141 isnt the real issue, that doesnt set off the SES light, but p0430 does. For now, i'm gonna see if i have any spare O2 sensors laying around and i'll try swapping the rear one on bank 2, and hope for the best.
i'm not sure what else to do.

I don't think your swap will work....The rear one is just a single wire sensor, isn't it?

i'll have to look, i have several o2 sensors i think... 3rd gen fbodies are 1 wire iirc.
EDIT:
ok, i crawled under the truck. the yukon has a 4 wire O2 sensor, (had to since the one code says "heated", lol) Ls1 O2s are also 4 wire so i pulled it from the yukon to compare it to the LS1 ones. One problem.. all is the same, except for the connector. the yukon has a female end, ls1 has a male end... well one ls1 O2 i have had the wire end dragging sinc ei had O2 sims installed, and the connector was worn down. since i cant sell it like that, i cut off the connector from the yukon O2 and spliced the female connector to the ls1 O2. I just reinstalled it. i cleared the codes before and so far nothing again. i dont care if p0141 coems up cause it wont set the SES which i failed for(even though apparently my SES dash bulb is burnt out(or was removed). Also i read that WOT can cause those codes to appear faster, lol. so until the pcm is ready for inspection, i will be babying the truck and not putting my foot to the floor, i figure it cant hurt lol.

btw those codes are for drivers side rear o2 & then a cat efficiency code...cat might be going bad or possibly just the drivers rear o2 is doa.

isnt the cat efficiency code i had for the pass side since it was bank 2?
im not sure theres even an intact cat there... apparently the previous owner or dealership disconnected the check engine light, or it just burnt out.
i was out driving it for a while this afternoon, still waiting for 3 of the readiness tests to be complete. hopefully more driving tonight and then tomorrow will do it. no codes came back so far....

the one code came back, just as i was waiting for the last readiness test to be complete... so much for that. the PCM was just sent out to be tuned to delete these codes. its cheaper than a cat or another o2 sensor.

UPDATE: Saturday morning I pulled the PCM from the truck, boxed it up and sent it out to Bryan at PCMforless. It was schedualed to arrive tuesday(yesterday).. well today i get home and theres a package for me. from PCMforless ALREADY! He did what i needed and sent it back to me in an incredible amount of time. He said it would be a 1-2 day turn around once he got it, but It must have arrived monday instead and he got on it right away. I am very pleased. I started the truck up to make sure it would run and so far so good. Now i gotta see if the codes stay clear and the readiness tests complete, then inspection time.
Overall, i would highly recommend PCMforLess. i know others have tried contacting them with no response but i emailed them and got a reply within hours. Once im sure the PCM is all good and codes dont come back, lol, i will be emailing bryan and thanking him and letting him know of our site.
