Can't choose!
Took this picture for my friend who is getting his car into a magazine, and we want to send in this picture but can't decide:
Focused on the Pony:
Focused on the Tach:
I personally like it Focused on the Tach.

I am going to go with the one that focuses on the tach because your focus seems to be closer in the pic rather than spanning over to the emblem for something that is clear.

my opinion is the pony. i might be looking to much into it, but since its a mustang, the pony is much more important than an idling cars tach. if the tach was revved, maybe the tach would be important, but the needle going down into the steering wheel is kinda meh IMO, plus, if the focus is blurry on the tach, you can see less of your own reflection in it and the shift light.
EDIT: if this is your friends car, and you have the opportunity to reshoot, see if you can a) move the wire for the shift light out of view, and b) shoot two photos, one at this exposure and one under exposed. that way you can go into photoshop and merge the two photos, take the sky out of the underexposed shot so that its blue instead of very very hot. Also try in different locations, definitely try indirect sunlight so that the highlights are more subtle. I know im being nitpicky, and i probably wouldn't even make these suggestions for anyone else, but i know you like to shoot a lot and make everything perfect, these are just things to try.

well it all depends on what the pic is used for...the one thats focused on the pony directs your attention to the fact that its a mustang...the one focused on the tach moves your attention to the fact it may be modded.

I like the one focused on the tach, but I would take it again with a little less of the steering wheel (and what appears to be an air freshener) in it. Might look cooler if it was revved up too, but I dunno. I think it's still pretty obvious to anyone that knows cars what the out of focus emblem is, and I'm also assuming that this won't be the only shot that is used in the magazine.
Otherwise, I would go with some of Melissa's suggestions, and see how it comes out.

the dash emblem, the tach is half hidden by the steering wheel anyway and the point is to get the car into the mag, nto a gauge.
