For your purposes, a nitrous Lt1 would be perfect I think. Better, deeper sound, madd torque low, reliable motor, cheaper...Everyone has an ellis juan.

Yea I looked at it and it probably wouldnt be cheper because more then likely the LT1 will be high miled and I would have to end up rebuilding ontop of getting a heads and cam to get where i want to be. Plus I would have to pay for labor seeing im far from a mechanic . Good runs 86formula I ran a 12.8 @109 in my old 01 6spd LS1 w/ a loudmouth & Lid.

I actually do know snorman from T.R. i used to hang out with him and Mike 00ss and kenny h, and a few others I won't mention because of personal reason and not wanting them to see this and start posting here again.
If snorman went 12.6 on a street tire at Atco that is one thing. If you are talking about racing in the 1/4 mile to Ultimate orange with a 3400 TC, cammed, bolt on car I am going to have to say no way in hell. I have a similar car its an 02 with a 3600 TC, exhaust, and I went 12.2. that clearly is better then his 12.6. Now if you are talking on the street then yeah I can see snorman destroying him because I'm assuming it's supercharged. I'm not a mustang fan so I don't know.

Anyway my point has always been that in order for the stangs to claim their dominance over the LS1 they have to supercharge the car. They can't or at least couldn't make a stang that was even close to the LS1 N/A.

In that case why would I spend all the additional money on a stang when I can do basic mods on an LS1 and still be faster.

Not to mention if I know SNORMAN he probably did a few little tweeks and didn't tell anyone. He knows how to get good performance out of cars with very little change.

The cars trap proves the power differance in the two not a driver mod. Not sure what Ls1 is trapping anywhere near 115 bone stock, o wait there isnt any. He also raced a member named ultimateoranngess from eatontown(99 hugger SS) who had a stalled(believe 3400 @ the time), gear'd,LS6 cam'd, bolt on Ls1 car and detroyed him stock, they were also clean races. Im sure he posted that in the kill stories as well. Not here to start a flame thread, all I ever owned were camaro's but for you to say that its a drivers race is crazy. Now a bolt on Ls1 and a stock cobra might be a drivers race. Believe me there's plenty of Cobra owners that have ran near Evan Smith times without being professional drivers. It doesnt take the driver mod to get a 12 out of a termi. Most of the average drivers cut 12.8's or so. Both these cars have been out several years and anyway you look at it the Cobra is a 1/2 second faster stock on average and it only gets worse when the modding begins due to the FI @ forged Cobra motor. I understand this is an fbod board and there's bias people here(why should it be different then any other site) but thats no reason to dog the oppositions performance because of brand loyalty. Im sure you die hard fbody guys are tired of hearing this crap so im gonna end my part in this thread right here . | |

 | Yea it was on the street in TR, but w/ Tony driving im not sure it would have made a difference . UltimateOrangess is far from the best driver seeing he has a TTP cam ,afr heads, Kooks LT's,373's,3600 stall now , and Id assume a ttp dyno tune and has only ran a best of 12.2 to date. We use to be good friends 5 or so years ago and I personally ran the car at Etown and it seemed to be on par w/ the other stock LS1's.

Ok, every time some on suggests something you change your mind, First you said, a 03/04 cobra went 12.43's stock, then ron said something and now your new time is 12.6. As much as you say you want an fbody, with all this arguing and proving your point about the cobra just get one already. Four pages of just going back and fourth..

j0n thats definatly believeable but iv owned like 4 LT1s once i got into a m6 LS1 i fell in love, i know this can be fixed but for some reason the LT got incredible pick up but nothing to hold it up whereas the LS is great all around the tach. so if you can get around that, which u already did so you know what to do w/ an LT not every one spends mod money the same i would put that money first to making my car more rigid and handle better that wont make the LT beat an LS so thats why id get the better stock motor
