I have an extra EUREKA WHIRLWIND 15" Cleaning Path/Self Propelled 12 Amp with the Bagless Cyclonic System. It comes with all kinds of accessories attached to it and works fine. My mother-in law just gave my wife the exact same one she had because she now has a cleaning lady. Could save you some money since I'am only asking $40.00. PM if interested.

They had one at my (soon to be) old office, and it worked good from what I saw. The only other thing I know about them is one of my dogs always howls at the Dyson commercial with the squeaky old vacuums lol.

If you have pets with lots of hair (long haired cats or dogs) try to get the vacuums that don't have the rotating brushes at the bottom. They'll get all wrapped up in hair and break the belt that drives the brushes. Use the beltless, brushless vacuums.

my family used to have an oreck xl, then mom got the Dyson "Pet" version. It truely is a kick ass vacuum. it not only cleans well, but its easy to empty, the hose is built-in/attached and really simple to go from upright to hose, PLUS if you get large crap stuck in the tubes, every component from the brush system to the dirt canister is incredibly easy to remove and clear an obstruction out of. get it. you will be glad you did.
EDIT: wanted to add that we have a german shepard that sheds like crazy. this thing has helped keep the mess much more under control.

agree with all the good remarks about the dyson. i have the pet one but i must say its not the lightest of vacuums. i would say thats my wifes only complaint.
