clutch took a crap
so today i start my car and clutch feels weird, sure enough my slave and master took a dump. i ordered my rear yesterday so i just had it towed to ttp and now its getting 02 hydraulics with the ls7 clutch setup. i should have the car back on tuesday with the clutch done then since its freezing and im too lazy to do it im gonna have them throw the rear in the car as well, and then throw an ls6 intake on it

guess you dont plan on doing much racing?
Although that clutch is in a 500hp vette, your car weighs at least 400-500lbs more and its still a STOCK clutch lol. some of my friends made the mistake of going with the LS7clutch.
For your next clutch, find somebody with an old core, like a Ram, mcleod, or something like those, then send it out to get rebuilt. youll have an amazing clutch for 1/2 or even 1/3rd the cost of new. i just bought a rebuilt spec stage 3 for 300 bucks. mcleod single disks go for around 500 rebuilt and thats a more expensive one

I got a ls7 clutch, if your using it as a dd its a good clutch, if you want to take it to the track thats a diffrent story. As soon as i put m/t radials on it and went to the track i smelled clutch and the pedal went soft, you cant hot lap it also. I'm getting a new clutch in the spring

all depends on what you want to do with your car my friend. The reality is, in any LSX powered car, Stock-style clutches arent the answer when it comes to drag racing lol

I suggest everyone just save a few steps and all of the time picking generic off the shelf clutches and just hit up JSPerformance. He will talk to you about about your desired use and listen to your needs and give you a REAL CUSTOM CLUTCH, not some generic off the shelf piece. His prices are reasonable and the service is fantastic.
Anyone who has sat in my car can't believe the balance between feel and gripping power.

I wish, Josh takes my payments the same as everyone elses. He is just my local shop, so I know how good his work is and all that he offers.

josh gives discounts to NJFBOA members. he is very reasonable and i am dropping my car off tomorrow for a JS clutch.
it will be replacing a Spec 3i. the day i buy another spec clutch is the day that my only other choice is an automatic conversion. even that will be a tough decision. it sucked

Despite the cost, i would recommend Textralia clutches. I have one in my car and it amazes me. My stock ls1 ate up a spec 3 quickly and after a while it would slip horribly, after just revving to high rpms. Since the new motor and clutch, its holds amazingly and feels stock. No chatter like i got ALL THE TIME with the SPEC.

I was planning on getting the Textralia flywheel when it is time to do a clutch again. Supposed to be the lightest on the market, about 2lbs lighter than my Fidenza according to their site
I am so happy with this clutch that I will likely ask Josh for something similar with just an upgrade to the master when that time comes.

My friend, the street and track are 2 different places. It might feel fine on the street, but youre not gonna cut 1.6 60's. Once you go to the track and actually run it hard, youll see why we warned you
