what do you use for downloading?

Aside from torrents.

Just got a brand spankin new computer and don't trust limewire, etc... what's good? (defining good: low on the viruses high on quantity of content)

utorrent with peerguardian

I've never had a problem but I don't think it protects much or at all against viruses.

peer guardian takes known spyware, education, government, etc. IP addresses and blocks your computer from connecting to them during P2P download sessions. basically, disallows big brother from watching what you download, because you'll have never downloaded anything straight from them.
