I got ripped off in the body shops. I was very nieve in the begining.
I spent over 90k so far, I did buy GM parts whenever possible GM fenders were $600 ea, etc etc The only thing I can say is that although I got ripped off bad, This is 100% ground up rebuilt to my specs.
I say rebuilt, because it was not restored in true sense of the word. All the lame dudes get a earl schives paint job & call it restored 100%.
heavily updated, New 350 (original 327 2 barrel carter + Gum), Monster 700r4(Blew, shattered, the original powergile 4th of july, 09 : pics to follow & move upon request), 8.5 - .383 Posi (Unknown open end most likely .283 or .308), New Interior, all new wireing, original 4-wheel manual drums (upgraded to Stainless steel brake co., 4 wheel power disk), weld subfram cinnecters etc etc etc etc etc etc.
I got hooked on the "Mind as wells", If your doing this, you mind as well do this, etc etc etc etc etc.
But again This is my car built to my specs, & to sit here with the keys in my hand is F'N Priceless.

I have the build sheet s Ill scan them & post them when i figure out how.
I'll also will post the reciepts I got from the body shops & you tell me If i got ripped.
I believe I leagaly can post them without getting sued by them for slander right?
I mean Im gonna post the reciepts they gave me as is, right ?
Anyone with knowlege please advise.
I only do this to advise our community what to watch out for from less than reputable shops. How many of us have gotten outrageous prices for common work just because our cars are sharp?
I'm not looking to stand on a soapbox & if this is not the place for me to vent please say so & I will be quiet, But i want to post the actual reciets I have into this car & ask you guys if I got ripped off. Is that leagal, without me being sued?

I'm not sure about posting receipts, if it may be slanderous if we torch the guys who ripped you off.
All due respect (and that's a damn nice car!) you got taken for $90k. There's a member on here named HardcoreZ28. He runs a resto shop and may be able to give you a rundown of what he would charge- and he does high quality stuff.
One question- How much new metal did it need? Fenders, hood, doors, quarters, etc? If you didn't do a lot of panel replacement than that price is even more out there.

The works, it originaly went in for shock towers, then trunk,
Lots of work, solid floors, f-wall, trunk, fenders, header, Lvalace, reaer panel etc there is not enough room to post the pics, then, then, then.
NJ bites with respect to body shop law, ethics.
ok enough of me whining
LOL I just noticed I have the rims I bought originaly in every pic. LOL
I bought it with original rims I have to find that pic

As Bill said you could PM me a list of what you had done and I can give you atleast a ballpark figure for what it would have run for me to do it....but 90k for a full resto if you paid for labor on all aspects isn't really that out of the question.
All said and done you have a great looking car. I'd love to see it in person.
