Sorry, but that is plain dumb, sure go risk your life on the highway or some empty back road, but at that speed, if someone stepped out they are dead as well...

Impressive though... landing on a ****ing roof... and everyone said G8s were heavy boats...

Apparently... he was driving on the service(feeder) road for the freeway(immediately to the left of the accident scene). And he began driving off on the right shoulder for a decent distance, then struck the curb almost dead on which then put the car into a somersault action which finally came to stop on the roof, after taking out a good deal of the rest of the roof during the tumbling action.
Maybe he was speeding on the freeway got off and wasn't paying attention, maybe he was on the freeway and dozed off, maybe a blown tire pulled him to the right, maybe his brakes went out as he exited the freeway, maybe... Whatever the reason, a young person died, intentionally, due to stupidity or a legit accident. Point is, its not fair to family and friends and is still a tragedy. Nobody here knows what type of person he was, how he drove everyday, or his emotional/mental status at that time. Most likely, we'll never know exactly what happened.

Lets just all take this as a lesson, and think twice before we take that extra risk. Maybe that little pause will end up saving you or someone else in the future.

 RIP Shaun

Thats all i have to say on this topic.

If his unpleasant wounding has in some way enlightened the rest of you as to the grim finish beneath the glossy veneer of criminal life and inspired you to change your ways, then his injuries carry with it an inherent nobility, and a supreme glory. We should all be so fortunate. You say poor Toby? I say poor us.

i still dont see how it is possible to launch a car that high from a CURB. it also looks like he hit the other side of the roof as well so it definitely flipped a few times.

to all the people saying we should have sympathy:
Driving that fast is like playing Russian Roulette with yourself and random strangers and family who don't want to play.

If you think it's fair or have sympathy for someone breaking the law to this extent and crash into your own car (or house) and potentially kill everyone in it then you're an idiot.

yeah it sucks someone died. do i have sympathy, no. driving at the speed he did he put his life and innocent bystanders on the line. we dont know his mental state, or the situation he was in, but either way it doesnt give him the right to drive like a complete idiot.
and that picture on his facebook or whatever of his speedometer hitting 160+ shows that it wasnt an unusual occurrence to hit those speeds and that he had what was coming to him. if you are playing with a knife and you get cut dont cry about it, you know what you are doing.

im really happy nobody else was hurt in the accident. yeah he was 22 and had a whole life in front of him, if he drove like a 22 year old should and not like a 5 year old maybe he would get to live that life. imagine if he took out a child or someone who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
