its that value thing that matters. especially when you go to sell it.

A salvage title is not a big deal. There are legal ways to make the salvage disappear.

My one bike was a new Hampshire salvage title. I went through the whole process in nj to get a clear title. Was pretty easy actually for me at least. To do it with a car to sell as original, not worth it. But if i buy a salvage car for 1/8 actual value, fix with another 1/8 value into it, as long as i could sell for half the normal value, i profit. But that's only people who fix and flip cars. For enthusiasts sometimes its just having a certain car and not caring what it'll sell for one day.

if he has a clear title now and does not turn it over to insurance company it will still be a clean title just the an accident mark, just tell them no matter what your keeping car and going to have it fixed no mater what,

True but seeing Ed post as long as I have he'd never get the sentimental value for it anyway...so it's worth looking into especially if there wouldn't be any plans to sell it for a long time.

Yea, I don't think this will be an issue. Went through this with my Jeep when it was hit while parked. Was declared an obvious total loss with 1/4 panel damage on a 23 year old Jeep with 285k-ish miles, but it didn't drive any differently after the hit, and the buyback was under $400, so I bought it back and have kept on driving it, same insurance company & policy, no change to the title.
