Why buy a HP clutch?

Hey everyone,
This will probably make me sound like an idiot, but I really dont know.

I am getting a T56 to put into my 3rd gen this weekend. I need a clutch. I see all kinds of clutches from stock replacements for $150 to twin disk units for 1k+.

What is the advantage of a High Performance clutch & is it worth the extra $$$. I know I not going to spend 1k on a clutch, but if its worth it, I may be able to swing up to $400.

My thoughts:

A higher performance clutch will have higher power holding capacity, and typically better heat resistance. A tradeoff in some cases is that you will get a heavier pedal and that the clutch may be "grabby".

I have heard many horror stories about cheap HP clutches going south WAY too early during their lifespan. If you go that route, do your homework on the different boards and see what's best.

get a clutch master there about 400-500 bux and i have had it in my car for almost 2 years with dr on the car what ever u do DO NOT GET A RAM THEY SUCK

At the power level you are at You won't need a $1000.00 clutch, my favorite clutch when I was at lower HP was the centerforce clutch, I liked the way it released and it held true fro a long time. Only one I would avoid is the Spec stage III, mine melted first trip to the track.

I've heard lots of good reviews from Centerforce Dual-Friction clutches on stock and lightly modded cars.....
