A Christmas Present To Myself

Well after having a little clearance issue with my valve covers and rocker arms I knew it was time to pick up some bigger valve covers. I had heard that canton was going to stop making there LT1 specfic valve covers so I had to pick up a pair of them from what is left. They came in the yesterday, only paid $190 for them from my local speed shop which is a lot better than the $225 they want for them on the canton website. They look amazing though I can't wait to put them on.

And for those who have ever tried to fit valve covers on an LT1 know how you either need to bash the cover or grind the back of the alternator. With these there is no need for any of that plus they look great in my opinion.

They do look nice. I've read a lot of people have had problems with them. Like they had to grind and dimple for clearance. I hope they have fixed those issues. Good luck.

Never heard of that problem, you mean like clearance from the hood?

No, internal clearance. Mostly with guys running Comp cams Pro Magnum roller rockers. IIRC they were hitting where they are notched for the alternator. I'll look around and see if I can find where I read it.

They look really nice. Canton makes some nice stuff, I've installed two of their oil pans before and they are sweet.
