Headers
Quick question. Does anyone other than Pacesetter make headers for a 98-02 Firebird?

the 3.8 pacesetters are hit or miss, just like most other pacesetters. Some fit well with no leaks, some will require a few good whacks with a hammer to clear the steering shaft. I haven't been paying much attention to the 3.8 aftermarket the last few years, but they were the only ones still selling headers last I know.
Not sure what year you have, but if you have the later tubular manifolds, I wouldn't worry about headers just yet - the stock pipes flow pretty well.

i know the forum i belonged to when i had my sixer had a member who was producing long tubes for the 3.8
he had at least ten sets being made when i left
i believe it was $800+ for the two sides and y-pipe, this was probably about a year ago so they mgiht have all clearance issues resolved. That is the last i have heard, havent really been over there much

Are you talking about the ones that the guys on FTv6 were making? I never knew they finished those - looked like they were gonna be pretty sweet.

Here is the link to the long tubes..

There are also RK sport Headers ( which I had) and Clear Images Headers but the best bet is to get some pacesetter headers and be done with it.

For A V6 I dont really see the advantage of dropping 800.00 on a set of Long Tubes. My V6 was making over 450 hp and well over 500ftlbs of tq out of the RK sport shorty Headers. I think they are cool to have but unless you just have money to throw at your car then I wouldnt get them.
My V6 on the stock motro with Headers, Flowmaster exhaust, Lid, and a 125 shot dynoed @ 313 rwhp and 410 ftlbs of tq. All those mods together cost about 1000.00 dollars.
