Bumper Bracket Replacement
Factory bumper supports are welded to frame horns, and they are all jacked up. 2005 2500HD GMC
Option 1: Get truck on rack to pull things back to stock (if thats even an option)
Option 2: Grind off weld, remove jacked up supports and bolt on new ones via RA ( http://www.rockauto.com/en/cart/?a=R...le.com+URL+%2F)
Thoughts? Obviously option 2 worries me with getting the brackets aligned to where factory had em, but I can do that operation in driveway.

I'd think you'd have an easier time with the bolt-in brackets versus a shop bending/tweaking the bent up ones back to perfect. Much easier to slot holes I would think versus perpetual tweaking of super metal bracket.

I agree. After a quick search it doesn't look like it would be TOO awful to align.

It would be grinding the factory welds off, and then getting new brackets on somehow where the old ones were located.
Worry is that if I knock the weld off completely I won't have anything to align new bracket to.

I think so. The front left of my truck was hit before I got it. So it was repaired as well. But I don't remember having to completely drill holes.

I would think so too and I know there are some holes there that aftermarket bumpers use. Probably super easy to do and OP should just ship itttttttt

Negative, bracket is def welded to frame rail. No holes there other than the tow hook through bolt.
Ordered the brackets though, gonna see if I can grind weld then use it to align new brackets too.

To update: After grinding/cutting factory bumper supports off, managed to get the new brackets on. Only used the bottom hole for now, before I drill the final home want to get another opinion on alignment of the bumper.
So yes, I over thought it. As usual.
