we found this one snowman that was at least 15ft tall by smith school last year. it was almost as tall as the house it was standing in front of. and it was frozen solid too by the time we found it. we tried kickin it over but it just wouldn't budge, not even when we broke out the baseball bats it ended up being the only snowman in town we didn't destroy

this thread is making me crack up.
I once made a kick ass snow fort, and someone tried to kick it over after-school. I was very distrout walking home from middle school, to see my fortress destroyed like that.

Hell yeah...deffinatly made some killer snow forts in my day. I remember I took a book from my schools library, and it was all about making snow forts, and other snow weopns. It was by far the best book I have ever seen. I have it still...but dont know where I put it.
Best was playing football in the snow.

me and my brother used to have some crazy snowball fights. i had the ultimate fortress...
it had high walls, enough to duck behind. i had one area to the left that was a HUGE mound of snow. to my right was a small shelf, with a groove dug in the middle. I had 5 premade snowballs ready to go on the shelf. if i needed ammo, i'd just take snow from the mound, make a snowball, and throw it onto the shelf. I used to kill my brother all the time because I had this design. He used to just have a mound of snow in front of him that was tapered at the top, so he didn't have good cover. My walls were actual walls, packed in so that incoming snowballs were absorbed. ah, the good old days...

i always got my kicks out of rearanging the snowmen on peoples lawns. true, the snowmen lost 2 buttons and the carrot nose, but we determined what gender they were.

Snowforts are awesome. A couple years back school was canceled for a week from the blizzard that we got...and so my friend and i went over to his neighbors house, who had just plowed the driveway with his tractor (they live out in the woods, but have tractors too)...the snowmounds were about 9 feet high, and frozen solid. We got shovels, and began tunneling through it...at the end there were like 6 entrances that curved and snaked, all to one big ass center that you could sit in...also we had a shoot on one side, because it was kind of a straight down hill that curved in the middle and if you jumped in it youd fly out of the other side. by far one of the coolest forts ever.

during one of last years bilzzards, a few friends of mine and i took advantage of the town plowing all the snow in the whole town to one location, interstate shopping plaza right off rte 17. there were numerous mounds at least 20ft high each. we build the craziest snow igloo ever right in front of borders. the mound was a little over 30ft high and we dug out the indsides. it had 2 rooms inside on two seperate levels, snow couches, the works. each of the two rooms could hold about 15 people. sadly the town moved the mounds of snow the very next day. i know somebody took some pics of the inside of one of the rooms, i'll see if i can find em....

HAHA, i can't believe someone actually found the entrance. cause it was like up towards the top and sorta shielded from view with a litte mini wall covering the pathway to the door. so what'd you think of our quality work? the snow couches lineing the first room, the skylight, the lower level reaching the pavement 8)

it took us a few hours. that skylight was origionally someone walkin on top and having one leg fall through accidentally we were gonna go do the HUGE one behind petco the next day. but people got lazy and we ended up having a massive capture the flag snowball fight on that one instead. towards its peak, that petco mound had to be about 40 feet high and 150 square feet in widths i don't even know how they managed to pile the snow up that high
