Shift solenoid SES light help

I'm coming back to school tonight after removing some weight at Tim's (then headin home, then back to school) and my SES light pops up. Luckily I still have brando's carchip so i set that to scan and went to a test drive... come back here to read it and it tell me I got:

P0751 Shift Solenoid "A" Performance or Stuck off

my question..... what the HELL does this mean? OK I can see a code for the solenoid dying (which is bad anyway ), but why does it say "Performance"???

not sure exactly what it is or why people get it...I've seen dozens of threads about it with no true fix.

Your transmission is controlled by the computer via "solenoids" instead of the t.v. cable and the governer one of these solenoids is hanging up and possibly bad. In particular the solenoid that controlls the boost in line pressure that is contorlled by a perofrmance shift button or just w.o.t. seems to be the problem. Take your car to a qualified professional to have it repaired.. A solenoid pack is cheap compared to an entire rebuild so get it checked out pronto!
