Paint on 68
what would be the easiest and best way to strip the paint from my quarters. i need to repair them but i dont wanna sith there for days trying to get the paint off. keep in mind, the car is in my driveway not a shop

Chemical stripping can be the cleanest as far as dust goes but you have to make sure you don't get it everywhere. Also it's temperature sensative- it won't strip as well in the colder weather. If you go that route, NAPA stocks a good one. I think it's a Martin Senour product.
You can use a random orbit sander but you will probably need a big compressor to power it.

Chemical might be your best option if the car doesn't run. Or Final Strip does soda blasting and I believe they'll come right out to you. The product is biodegradable so you can just hose it down after.

I've done a chevelle, a nova, and a corvette with aircraft remover (they make one for metal and one for fiberglass) Water neutralizes it. I'm not sure how it works in different temperatures but it worked awesome. Just carefully mask off what you don't want stripped.

There is a brief write up on that stuff in the new Hot Rod.
I had decent results with stuff called peel away 7. Home Depot carries it. Much less toxic, even bit into undercoating pretty good. They don't give you enough paper, but it is just wax paper. Just a thought.

its better to do it when its hot the stuff works better we stripped my uncles 86 vette quick as hell last winter in his garage

Just make sure you get some type of primer on that bare metal almost immediately after you're done working or you could end up with rust fast.
