post up all of the information from your timeslip and tell us how you were launching the car (dumping the clutch and flooring it from idle, rolling off the clutch and into the gas easy, etc.).

Even 305 TPI's are in the mid 14 range with minor bolt on's. Sounds like you got some issues.
Best thing to do is get the casting number off the block first. Find out what you have then go from there since you're not sure that you have a 350.
What was your mph, 60' and 1/8 mile?

1st off no 350 car came with a 5 speed from the factory, so i think you mightta been dooped.
2nd, why does everyone think octane = speed? It probably slowed you down. All octane means is resistance to knock, in theory for the most power you want to run the lowest octane possible without detonating.
But yea, are you sure all 8 cylinders were firing?
Also, 60' is important, and if you werent spinning with street tires, stickier ones arent going to make much of a difference.
What was your 1/4 mph? I would assume mid 80s with that kind of ET.
Your car may have some basic mechanical issues, post up whats done to the car, mileage, etc...and I'm sure everyone will have 46 tips of what you can do to improve. It wont take much to do that I can assure you.
beings its a 5 speed, I'm sure there is a lot of room for improvement just in driving, and the resident memphis raines' on the board will be sure to tell you how!

I was going to say that but being he said the 350 was "swapped in" supposedly I didn't think it would apply.
Of and yea, octane boost wont do diddly in increasing power.

ok heres the timeslip
135-------car number
15.727-----1/4 mi time
.154---- reaction time
2.478----60ft
6.742----330
10.195---1/8th mi time
72.03----1/8 mph
13.156---1000
88.66---1/4 mph
and yes i know the original guy blew the 305 so he supposobly put a crate 350 in on the T5... it works but idk . so yes i know but blah.... well let me know guys i need some help im embarrassed.... its a camaro... and its TPI so a pain to look for a engine stamp.... and also.... bone stock with only a fiberglass hood. i thought the octane would help out.... vettes do it... but yea ill keep that in mind. ooooo yea 50000 on the motor 190k on the body. and with slicks i was trying launches off the clutch like a roll and also dumping. slicks same way kept getting from 17.2 to 16.0... best twice was 15.7 and i dont suck at driving... im not the best by far but i can drive a car ok.... lol i feel better.

That 60' time is killing you man, not to make fun, but I had better ones in my '91 Chevy Lumina with the 3.1.
Are you babying it out of the hole to protect the trans and/or rear end?

Justin is right that the 60' is killing you.
However, 88 mph is only going to get you a lower 15 second slip.
Sounds to me like the car could use the basic maintenance items and it will pick up 2-4 more mph, and become a high 14 second car like a stock, 350 tpi car typically was.
i dont know what vette guys run octane booster but chances are they are slowing themselves down too...

If the previous owner swapped in a 350, did he convert everything else over as well with the TPI stuff? You might still have a 305 chip and injectors, which will definitely cause some issues. You'll need to do some investigating for sure to find out what's really been done to your car.

Don't bother with slicks - they are hurting you.
Start with the basics....do a tune up..... and stick with street tires
My neon sxt 5 speed went 15.7

Yeah something must definitely be wrong there. Not to poke fun, when I ran my BONE STOCK mustang (5.0 AOD car EFI) it went in the LOW LOW LOWWWWWWWW 15's with a street tire nd not even exhaust (with a .001 Reaction Time). Once I put the exhaust/headers, nd a "decent" set of tires - it went in the 14.5-14.7 range, so definitely look into it. I dont know much about camaro's but I felt I would interject on this issue.
I'm sure you can get everything straightened out.
My first race was against a 350 Camaro nd I only won by a little more than a fender (also the driver was only 16-17 years old at the time as well) But still, if I only lost by a fender then yeah, there's definitely some issue you need to sort out.

Where did I say it had anything to do with my ET? Nowhere. But a good leave is a factor also, wouldn't you say? But nowhere did I state that it had any effect on my ET! FYI toots

yeah I think its a combination of 60's & power...my 89 350 auto ran 14.7's If I remember correctly but was a pretty well beaten car...I believe the mph was in the 93-94 range so your missing about 5mph which equates to about 35hp at the wheels roughly, and with a 5speed vs. my auto possible another few hp are missing so while the 60' is poor there is something else going on there.

ya something is definatly not right. my best time with my 88 iroc is a 14.5@95. best 60 foot is a 2.17. its got a one wheeler 2.73 rear and crappy tires. flowmaster cat back and headers with stock ypipe. so i would imagine your car should be at least a 14.7 car. first find out what motor you really have. grab a flashlight and try to look behind the head on the block it will be stapped gm.5.7 if its a 5.7.

you will need to drop the ecm out from under the dash, pull the little cover off and get the number off the chip.

Sorry that your feelings are hurt but then why would you bring it up as a (factor)?
