quarter mile question

i havent takin her to the track yet but im thinking about it and i wanted to get your opinions first.

i was wondering what you guys think she will run in the quarter
its a 98 z28 ls1 6 speed. the motor and clutch are basically brand new with only 7k on it. magnaflow dual exhaust and a k&n intake.
im thinking probably 13.5s
but any ideas what i should run if i were to put some drag radials on there?

and also i would take some tips on running her because this is the first stick car im going to have a the track.

Really depends on the driver. I've personally seen ls1's run anywhere from low 14s to high 12s on street tires with minor mods. Don't have one though so I can't help on tips.

with a manual, in order to get really good 60' times you need to ride the clutch. try and launch around 3500 rpm but don't pop the clutch or the tires will light right up. you need to get a feel for where it starts to grab, and just ease up on the clutch, really ride it to get off the line.

other than that, bang the gears, (i think 5200 is the shift point iirc) and don't try to hold 3rd out to the end, because with stock gearing you will hit the rev limiter just before the finish line.

low 13s isn't out of the question.

If i am correct didnt you get your 2002 z28 to run a high 12 with just an slp lid? if so as long as i can do it, launch at 3500rpm and shift at 5200 i should hopefully get a low 13.
