Inspections and exhaust
Just curious to know how strict the NJ inspection is regarding aftermarket exhaust. My exhaust is pretty much all stock except for a Spintech muffler. My car never failed in the past, and it even passed when I used to have a Flowmaster muffler (which is even louder than a Spintech).
Thanks!

you should be fine. i would recommend a private shop if you are worried though, usually more forgiving than state facilities.

i dont think you can really fail for loud exhaust. as long as its legit, cat(s), not rusted through etc. and passes emissions they dont care. but like Adam said go to a private inspection facility, they should pass you no problem as long as you have no engine lights.

NJ accepts the federal standard, so any system that has a fed number attached to it can be used in NJ.

Am I the only one that looked forward to inspection day so I could hear my exhaust reverberate throughout that giant open garage and rock everyone sitting in the waiting area with you?
I miss my Iroc...
