Torque arm help(Moser 9in)
My car and torque arms are pissing me the **** off. Put a 9in in my car about 2 weeks ago. I messed around with my umi non adj. torque for over 4 hrs and came to the conclusion that it just wouldn't fit. Meanwhile, the stock one slips right on and is installed in a matter of 10 minutes. Then last week, I traded away my UMI + a good amount of cash. Tonight I go and try to install the BMR adj. 1 I bought, and it doesn't fit! I'll go out and take a picture in a few. The BMR one was adj. to match the stock one side by side. I was able to hammer it on to the 9in housing(shouldn't have to do), and the holes are about an 1/8in off. WTf, am I doing wrong? At this point I've pissed away so much money on torque arms only to find that stock is the only one that has worked so far.

is it trans or tunnel mounted? The adj. one I have is a BMR. I have the technique down it takes to get the pinion at the right angle so that it'll let the torque arm slide on and off, it just seemed like the mounting flange of the torque arm will not allow the torque arm to move far enough to the center for the bolts to line up.

i have the crossmember mounted arm, adjustable.
I have heard of the arms not fitting and needing grinding of the housing or arm to make it work, It could be a issue with the torque arm mount on the axle as well, the stock arm may fit because its thinner and more flexible.
I wouldnt even bother with the non adjustable arm, its worthless on anything but a stock vehicle at stock height.
as for the bolt holes in the BMR arm, are there 2 sets of holes or just one? I know my UMI arm has 2 sets of holes, you couldnt use one set of the 9" rear unless you cut the webbing of the 3rd member a lot. I just had to grind a tiny little bit in one spot fopr the other set

yea, I'm gonna have to grind a little bit of the torque arm or 3rd member. Just don't have the time to mess around with it tonight. Maybe tomorrow I'll see what I can do.

thanks. I'll let you know how I make out. Got a pretty busy schedule for the next couple of days, so I may not get to it until next week.

the nice thing about the spohn setup is it has 2 sets of holes for that reason. maybe consider buying a spohn? Ive heard fitment issues with the other manufacturers with aftermarket rears.

Torque arm help(Moser 9in)
I just finished intalling a moser 9" and a Spohn adj. torque arm ,crossmember mount. The Spohn mount has 2 sets of holes ( 1 set for the 9" ) I mounted the TQ arm to the rear, than to crossmember, than moved the crossmember into place and bolted it up. It took a little effort but went into place. Hope this helps.

i just read some horror stories about the tunnle mounted t/a ripping the brackets right off the floor pans.... because that tunnle brace is only held on with those little bolt plates that are spot welded to the floor.... makes sense that hard launch might tear that out... i might go with the trans crossmember set up..... is that what your doin vin? and then ill just get a safety loop separate...

nah...I'm going trans mounted all the way...as in stock location. Gonna try and snap the tailshaft off the trans on a launch I may end up selling my exhaust so I can actually run something that's safe.

I've got way too much money into the y-pipe setup to justify selling it anyway. Between the catted y, custom welding, e-cutout, etc. Adding it all up is close to $1k and that's excluding the muffler.

If you have three point sub frame connectors then a tunnel mount would not have much to worry about.
