payments are never cheaper than car parts i learned that the hard way twice. Unless you really really like the car thats different. i would def go for a g8 if i had the means. does that qualifty for CFC as far as the mileage goes?

Id have to look into it, but thanks to the Caprice's piss poor gas milage, I might just luck out.
Ive even tossed the idea around of a Malibu 2LT/LTZ 4cyl. The MPG gap could put me in the 4500 range, putting me under 20k for a brand new car...

So, the 305 still runs, right (just not well)?

I say swap the 305 shortblock into the caprice, then trade it in for C4C. It's a bit of work, but you get rid of the broken engine, keep the running 350, and get a new car cheap

Thats what Ive been thinking about, non stop. They are gunna kill the damn thing anyway, right?
Problem is...I would want to keep the heads and cam, but Im sure I could just swap the two out. Maybe get a set of L03 heads, plop them on, and be done.
Also, Id like to grab the spindles off the front so I can do a 1LE swap for teh 72...
My caprice is a rolling parts car...it really is.
Im looking into a G8 GT or a Malibu LTZ. Theya re all going for low 20's. Dont know if I can justify/swing another 10k for a Camaro though.
Unless I get a magical phone call that Ive been waiting for weeks comes through...

Do it up Al.

I volunteer my services at ripping the hotprice apart provided there will be copious amounts of cold beer.

yeah id help too ive gotten a small block swapped and running in a single day alone before. would be cake work with 2 or 3 people. And cant you just stick the 350 heads on the 305 and put all the tbi gear back on? just get 2 ebay gasket sets for 40 bucks and buy good head gaskets for the motor you want to keep. complicated plan it seems to be

it should still run. the stock tbi heads are 1.94/1.50s right? will clear a 305 bore. I put 2.02/1.60s on a .030 over 305 and had no interference(other than poor air flow)

I knew ive seen it before....haha. Thats actually pulled off pretty nicely. The 2jz is like the only i6(which i think is one of the best motors to use in any car driven on the road) that can make some power and the supra is just a crappy platform to handle the power. So i wouldnt mind swapping it into a 3rd gen or a mustang. I guess its just me tho
