yea from what i read the base one is just like a regular cobra powerplant. and the higher dollar one (as if 75k wasnt high enough) is the aluminum block with a bigger blower.

He says it sall aluminum with a bigger s/c but he said it was 475hp. So he was wrong, I just had no idea what it put down. Any 1/4 mile e.t.'s on them?

Yea, I lied. Base is 425, aluminum block is 475.
And they advertise them as 10 second cars as delivered, but with a few tweaks they should dip into the 9s pretty easily. They come NHRA certified for 8.50s.

yea no...i just watched the video. maybe i read the article wrong. In any case isnt half of the fun of racing building the car?? (at least on a recreation level) And for a 9sec pass on video those passes were quite boring to me, But now this chicken dude has us straying away from the original post.

That's why Ford is only making 50 of them - just enough to allow them to compete in various NHRA classes which require the cars running to be available to the general public to purchase.
If you want to build your own, you can buy a base v6 mustang and order all the parts from Ford.

No... i understand why they are making them. And i think that's good. They should do that in nascar like they used to, But im just saying in my eyes for someone to go drop 75k on a counter and drive away, to me its like they missed half of the story, But maybe that's just me.

Ill stop about the Cobra Jet, I was just trying to figure out what he was bringing to the table.
Back on topic - Who wants some?! No power adders. Loser buys lunch. ***Stipulation-If the NHRA requires you drive your car with a license, I will not race you. *** I dont mind losing, I do mind giving my money away.

im not mad about anything. just you don't usually go to the track and see factory built cars getting raced. maybe its a pride thing i don't know. still for that price you can build 2 9 sec race cars... ill leave it at that.

i guess if ya got the money and dont wanna build your own car thats the way to go for a ford guy. it says in the video its not street legal and is race only. either way, win or loose the car doesnt impress me in the least

Sounds good, we'll have to do it more toward the middle of the season.

ill come down and race you. i have a clutch now that shouldn't slip down the whole track so i think it would be a good race.
