Picking out Stall converter

On my 95 Firehawk I plan on doing Headers, 3.73 gears, shift kit, and maybe some Rockers ( if it is worth it). I was asking around last night what size converter for a bolt on car and so far I am looking at around a 3200 stall. Anyone have any other suggestions? This is the 2nd Auto F-body I have owned and the 1st in 6 years. Its a fun car but I think adding a stall will wake it up a bit and make it a little more fun to drive as well!!

I would say 3600 stall in a LT1 or 3800 stall in a LS1

If you DD it, I would stay under a 3200 stall... your wallet will thank you...

I run a 3200-3400 stall with 3.73s and cruising on the highway, is, painful...

I would call a number of converter manufacturers and see what they say. They would know the best.

Just make sure the converter you get can lock up, that saves the highway problem

You could have a torque converter custom made to your specs. If you are really concerned about drive ability, I think you should contact Yank, Precision Industries, or Circle D and see what they recommend.

I ran a 4000 vigilante in my bolt on LS1 for a while, it was very loose. Needed like 2500 rpm for normal acceleration, but still very tolerable.

JS Performance will do a custom stalled Vigilante Converter for you based on your needs. Dont skimp on a cheaper converter because drivability will be affected. My car drives nicely despite the work done to it.

It is not a daily driver. We drive the WS6 and Firehawk pretty much on the weekends if at all.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I drove 2 stalled F-bodies and they both had a 4400 stall and heads and cam. I had a blast with the stall. I plan on keeping the LT1 pretty much stock with bolt ons.

Ive had 4 different PI converters
2800, 3200, 3400, 3600. Couldnt feel much of a difference between the 2800 and 3600.
and a 2800 stall pro torque
my 2800 stall pro torque felt just like the 3600 PI.

Matt... do you know what a lock up converter does? your stall speed doesn't effect your MPG at highway speeds because the converter is locked
