Lifter tick or exhaust leak

Hearing a ticking noise very simmilar to a lifter tick. I dont really hear it when I listen in the engine bay, but hear it really loud underneath, or when I stand next to the car the car. Header gaskets bad? Would that cause a noise like that? Just had mufflex build a y-pipe on the car last month. Sounds like a lifter tick but Im hearing it in the exhaust, sounds like a typewriter instead of the typical LS1 sewing machine, ideas?

Could be an exhaust leak as the exhaust gets very hot and very cold this time of year.

Take a nice long piece of rubber hose...maybe 3/8 thick stuff...about 2-3 feet long. Stick one end in your ear and poke the other around all of your exhaust ports and exhaust flange gaskets in the system. If it's exhaust it'll stick out clear as day doing this.

LS1 rocker arms have been known to fall apart. Maybe it's only 1. When was your last oil change?
