Taillights... electrical spoof?
Maybe it's just me... but when I had my 96 Firebird, I did some electrical work on it, like, changed out some speakers, the head unit, among other things, and when I was doing it I think I shorted something out...
Now, there are 3 lights on each taillight assy, so it should look something like:
1 2 3 4 5 6
2&3 and 4&5 would be brake lights, or turn signals, and they're supposed to blink at the same time. After I did the electric work each side would blink intermittently... so it would go (on the left) 2, 3, 2, 3, 2, 3 and so on, and on the right it would go 4, 5, 4, 5, 4, 5....
Now, I thought I had definitely done this, but I saw 3 firebirds and 1 camaro on the turnpike today making lane changes, ALL with the same problem.
Anyone else ever hear or see anything like this?

Haha very funny lol... but no seriously, anyone ever hear of this problem? I just found it interesting that I used to have that problem when I had my 96 Bird, and 3 years later I see 4 cars in the same day with the same problem.

you not losing your mind. many 3rd and 4th gen birds have this issue, its all related to bad sockets, bulbs, and grounds. it ranges brom bright/dsim parking lights, slow flashing, non-flashing, odd brake lights alternating, etc. it did it on my 93 T/A, so i cut the harness out and made a new one from scratch with new wiires and brand new sockets, worked 100% after that.

also, i blieve theres somethig you can buy (ive seen it on a mustang nd im told it exists) that makes the lights come on like that. On the mustang it had lights 1,2,3,4,5,6 and for a left turn, it would be like 3, 32, 321 pause, 3, 32, 321. same idea for the right side. im sure they made stuff like that for other cars, so maybe it was a program that did that. Anyonwe know whats that called/where to get it/how much?

Yeah, i mean it looks cool, but for anyone that knows anything about f-bodies, it's not supposed to be like that (so, technically it's kinda dumb lol) but i like that alternating blink pattern. It keeps one light always flashing, instead of both on/off. More of a safety issue i suppose.

the mod is called a "sequential flasher system" but in these cases, in all likelyhood, its a bad electrical connection
