I had a LS1 with a cutout and it sounded like complete ass....
BTW, there are a few "old school" cars on this site that would make your car look absolutely silly.
In order to have a "nasty" LS1 wouldn't you have to have a fast car?

lol i just got the car not so long ago. ive been enjoying it for the summer in the stock form its in. over the winter its getting a full on treatment which will categorize my vehicle as 'nasty'. as for being fast it holds its own stock for stock with a lot of the newer cars that are out and its 10 years old. not bad for what i got it for.

i thought it was more like this?
i actually am not a big fan of the body style of the 4th gen camaros. Ive owned two thirdgen sport coupe v8 camaros (like the six banger fronts). i picked up my 4th gen because im a fan of the lsx drivetrain and the price i paid for my car was stupid low for a lsx car.
i have fun with it.

I have always thought that flat tappet cams sound a lot better than rollers. Not the best for power or longevity but man do they sound good.
A DZ302 at 8500RPMs or a 427 at idle are my two favorites. LS1's have never come close. Even with cams and expensive exhaust parts.

I put the Dynomax cat back on mine, and it sounds good. Just a tad louder than stock with NO drone inside while cruising.

LS1 ->
And LT1 a boat anchor?

Pretty sure that's me in the right lane with my lil ol' LT1 vs a modified LS1.

uh...no...i would rather have a car that sounds relatively phenominal and be a few tenths slower stock...
and btw my car ran 13's bone stock with 120, 130, and 140k on it...and continued to do so all the way till 152k...the failship is calling final boarding, better run

LS1 owners get so defensive. And wasn't the LT4 designed almost in conjunction with the LS devolpement?

I have an LS1 and can honestly say, I bought it for the performance. If I was going to shop based on exhaust note, I would look for a car with a cammed big inch pontiac motor. NAstiest sounding things anywhere.

6 speed/9'' rear are in the bag. depending upon how much i have left after that ill either go with a low miled fresher ls1 motor and cam it. if i have close to 5k left after the rear and trans then ill just save it up for a iron block strocker.

If you think you need an iron block for performance you have just proven how little you actually know about the LS gen motors and engines in general.
